FAQ
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. - 2 Timothy 2:15
(Q) What verse in the Bible scripturally suggests or authorizes the sprinkling baptism of babies?
(A) There is NONE. The Catholics claim as their authority I Corinthians 1:16 which says: And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. (See also Acts 16:15).
Supposedly, there were infants in the house, but that is an assumption. Nowhere is that
stated as an historical fact. "Household" could just as easily been comprised of a couple
and their parents, or a couple and their servants.
(Q) Doesn't the Bible say baptism saves us in 1 Peter 3:21? The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
(A) No. Peter says baptism is a figure or picture of what saves us. So, what does baptism
picture? What saves us? The burial (dying to the sinful nature) to be raised again a
cleansed inner man by virtue of Christ's sacrifice in our behalf.
(Q) We're all God's children and we're all going to heaven - we're just gettng there by different roads - right?
(A) -1 - We are all God's creation. We become his child through spiritual birth (born again) by grace (undeserved favor), our redemption secured by our repentance/ belief and confession in the all-sufficient sacrifice Christ willingly made for us on the cross.
-2- Many people like to think we're all headed to the same destination, but we are NOT all headed for the same destination. Millions will be stunned when they realize they didn't end up where expected. The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. - Psalms 9:17
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: - Mark 9:43
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. – Rev 20-14
By God's standards, there is ONE way to heaven; all other paths lead the other direction.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. – John 14:6
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. - Matthew 7: 13-14.
